Early Church Fathers - Additional Texts, Edited by Roger Pearse
Dionysius the Areopagite, Works (1897) - Translated by Rev. James Parker The Works of Dionysius the Areopagite, Translated by Rev. James Parker (and published in England) is out of print and very hard to find; I believe that there is a copy at the University of Chicago Libarary. (Most other scholars today call him Pseudo-Dionysius, believing that the author borrowed the name of Dionysius - a common custom of the time.) While his notes may seem somewhat eccentric, I believe his translation reflects a deep intuitive understanding of the contents. Reading his translation can help elicit within you the ability to experience the intuitive reality through the words. This translation may suggest useful starting points and even methods for your for prayer and meditation.
Other copies in different formats are available here: works.pdf works.htm (also works.txt & works.xml) If you want to, you can download a copy of zipped files of Book 1 and Book 2, in .tif format. This copy is not in html, but rather pictures of the actual pages of the book Sort of like having a Zerox copy, only on your computer and through the internet.
These pages mirror http://www.ccel.org/p/pearse/morefathers/home.html and also http://www.tertullian.org/fathers/index.htm - and offer you the opportunity to view additional valuable material online or purchase a CD of that additional material. Here is a link to purchase a CD that I believe includes the work of the Early Church Fathers as well as these Additional Texts. All of this material is in the public domain, with special thanks to Roger Pearse for making this available for us. - David Burnet
